![]() I’ve seen a few episodes of Battlestar Galactica (re-imagined version). Is it enough? If you know the basic concept, it would be enough depending on the type of character you plan to play. We would always encourage you to watch the new series. It doesn’t hurt to watch some of the original series too, and Caprica. How does the Caprica series fit into this universe? Caprica was the prequel to the Galactica series, which took place 58 years before the Fall of the Colonies. Even though it only had one season, there was enough to give us a hint of what led to the war between the Cylons and the Humans. The series ended in a cliff hanger, and left us with a void as to the fate of at least two characters, Zoe Graystone and Tamara Adama. In our universe both turn out to be Cylon. The fate of Zoe remains a mystery, but Tamara Adama becomes the Cylon leader. The last five minutes of Caprica gave us a lot to play with as seen in this Youtube video below. Where is the Battlestar Galactica? Galactica was decommissioned and turned into a war memorial in our universe. Our universe is base mostly on original characters, so we went with an original storyline. How do we differ from the series? A different chain of events in the first war changed the course of the 2nd war. This is an alternative universe where the Battlestar Columbia was not destroyed in the first war and this changed the future of the Twelve Colonies. We are also taking parts from the Caprica series which changed the history of the Cylons too. Tamara Adama became the Cylon Leader. There are more than 12 models of Cylon, and radical monotheist humans collaborate with the Cylon to bring in a new era. In this flashback from the series, you see the Columbia destroyed. Now image how this crew of 2000 can now shape the future if they lived. Little parts make up the big picture one way or other. Why we are not allowing the main canon characters in our universe? Simple, the story of those main characters was told. We are telling an alternative story about original characters and the events that unfold in the Second Cylon War. Exceptions have been made to allow minor characters from the series that were not featured in an episode as a key person or appeared in more than 35 episodes. Another exception is the Cylon models, since there are many copies. What about Cylon Models? In our universe there are more than 12 models. Each copy will have different personalities. The ‘final’ Five will not make any appearance any time soon in our story, if ever. They will exist in the background. Original Characters can be Cylon. Lastly Tamara Adams and Zoe Graystone will or could have a part in the story eventually. What about the Monotheists and the Soldiers of the One? Different sects of Monotheists will collaborate with the Cylons. Radical monotheists can be Soldiers of the One working side by side with the Cylons in occupied territories or as spies in the ranks of the Colonials. It is also possible for Monotheists to side with the Colonials too. There will be converts in the colonies occupied by the Cylons. What about the Battlestar Avalon? Avalon is the setting for the majority of military characters. It will fight alongside the remaining Colonial Fleet to defend the surviving Colonies. It has a separate IC journal: Battlestar Avalon What about Colony of Aerilon? Glenrock is going to become the primary setting for us on Occupied Aerilon. It’s a town at the edge of the Persephone Highlands, where people will try to hold out and survive the occupation. It’s also a great introduction to the fandom for those not too familiar with it. It’s about surviving under Cylon-occupation. What is Godmoding? This is writing actions, speeches and basically controlling another player/member's character. It can also be interpreted as characters without flaws and are considered perfect. As will be shown in our application, we want characters to have strengths and weaknesses because it makes things three-dimensional and adds up to better story-telling for all. The male/female ratio: If you have made three female characters and are now starting to make your fourth character then it must be of the opposite sex which would be male. The same would apply if you have made three male characters, the next must be female. This is not us trying to limit your choices but simply trying to maintain a sensible male to female ratio. Do we need to setup a new journal for each character? Yes. Each new character needs a new journal. Is it possible to have one character exist in both Battlestar Avalon and Colony of Aerilon rp's? Yes, as a Cylon. First you must have permission from the Mod. What is a Cylon? Any questions? Please send email to kobols.legacies@gmail.com |
